Passing through the village of Livadi, do not forget to visit the bridge in Katouni.
It is a stone bridge resting on 13 arches, has a length of 110 meters, a width of 6 meters and a height of 15 meters.
It is considered as the most important work done during the era of British rule.
It was constructed in 1826 by the British Governor of the island Mac Phail who, according local stories, aimed to reach his beloved who lived in the other side of the village. In his time, the present road system on Kythira was laid out and numerous of bridges and schools were built.
